In response to the COVID 19 outbreak which is further limiting access to resources with rising unemployment and economic depression in at-risk communities, Food On The Move and The Tulsa Sheriffs Foundation are utilizing mobile service model and a diverse set of partners to continue to meet the need of those hardest hit within food deserts while adjusting its implementation to reflect social distancing guidelines.
Program Scope
The D & D Program is a dual-purpose feeding initiative, seeking to serve the population in food deserts safely with two systems of Low-touch delivery, while also utilizing and supporting local business in this period of crisis.
Low touch at a stationary location.
Groceries, fresh produce for a week, and a prepared meal for five are assembled in a central site.
Delivery facility is set up at a stationary location.
Guests drive through and open their trunk.
FOTM Volunteer (wearing a mask and gloves) loads food into the vehicle.
No-touch deliveries at multiple locations.
Food Truck drives to local neighborhoods.
FOTM Volunteer (wearing a mask and gloves) drops off grocery box and meal to each doorstep.
After delivery residents pick up delivered food (FOTM and Residents are never in close proximity).
